Eknath may have been a latecomer to the professional stage, but his skills on the cricket field are undeniable as evidenced by his impressive statistics. He is an excellent batsman who can anchor an innings and take on bowlers to score big for his team. His agility and reflexes make him an outstanding gloveman, ensuring a safe pair of hands in any situation. He is also a proficient off-spin bowler who can contribute with the ball.
He has represented Mumbai at various levels, from under 16s to under 25s, making his T20 debut in 2015, scoring 53*. Eknath finally made his First-Class debut in 2018, where he scored his maiden half-century. Despite his impressive skills, he didn't get many opportunities to play again due to the strength of the Mumbai side.
In 2021, he made a career move to Goa, where he made his List A debut and has since performed outstandingly in both First-Class and List A matches, averaging over 65 and over 40, respectively. After a successful Ranji Trophy season, he was selected to represent South Zone in the upcoming Duleep Trophy in 2022.
In 2023, Eknath signed for Alnmouth & Lesbury CC, and had an exceptional maiden season. He scored an impressive 1229 runs at an average of 76.81, with six half-centuries and four centuries. Despite being a keeper by trade, he also performed exceptionally well with the ball, taking 34 wickets at an average of 14.47. Off the field, he was a delight to have around, with his friendly, playful, and outgoing personality winning over not only the club's playing members but also the non-playing members.
Eknath has recently joined Chhattisgarh, where he is set to strengthen their batting lineup and help them win this year's Ranji Trophy. He is now seeking a return to the UK, and his experience, talent, and amiable personality would make him an excellent addition to any team and a fantastic bloke to share a changing room with.
