About

Emanuel Motswiri

Emanuel is a talented cricketer with loads of potential. Being the dedicated and hard working player that he is, he has worked his way through the provincial academies and onto the professional stage. With no sign of slowing down, he is on track to be a top all-rounder in the South African domestic cricket scene. Whilst usually seen batting in the middle order he has batted at the top of the order during academy and colts matches. At the crease he bats with cautious confidence, balancing his defensive play with aggression. He doesn't shy away from taking the attack to the bowlers and uses his wide array of skills to score all around the ground.

Whilst bowling opportunities have been limited since the inception of his professional career, he is slowly starting to get more opportunities especially as a middle overs bowler given his ability to tie down an end and utilise his skills with an older ball. However, he has been seen to take the new ball during academy and colts matches. He bowls with good pace and consistency making him a useful option and a constant threat.

Growing up, Emanuel frequently represented the Gauteng age group teams and represented Gauteng U19 at the prestigious Khaya Majola Week in 2017. From 2020 onwards, he was part of the Central Gauteng Lions Academy and Colts team. After working hard and consistently putting out valuable performances, he finally got his big break when he was signed by Northern Cape in 2023.

Unsurprisingly, given his talent, he scored his maiden First Class century in just his third match which cemented his spot in the side and proved that he is a serious talent. He completed his maiden season with 354 runs with an average of 44.25 which included two centuries. A great start to his career emphasising his immense talent and potential.

Emanuel now has his sights on the UK for 2025. A player of his quality that is able to deliver with both bat and ball make him a fantastic option for any club looking for a player that can guarantee runs, wickets, and match winning performances.
