Gajitha is a talented all round cricketer, predominately a batsman he is also handy with the ball with his off spinners and is a competent wicket-keeper. He is a top order batsman that is comfortable facing any type of bowling but plays spin especially well and enjoys taking the attack to them from the start ensuring that they don't settle into a rhythm. Whilst bowling opportunities are limited for Gajitha at professional level due to stiff competition, he can be seen bowling frequently during local matches.
Gajitha can be described as a late bloomer only making his First Class debut at 22 years old but he took the opportunity that was given to him with both hands and impressed in his first season for Bloomfield scoring three half-centuries and averaging just under 30. He currently plays limited overs cricket for Kurunegala and will be playing for Badureliya in the upcoming Major League Tournament (First Class) where he will be looking to make a good impression and a strong start to the season.
Gajitha is now looking to show his skills in the UK. As far as an all round cricketers goes, he is a great option for a club looking for a dependable batting all-rounder to strengthen the batting lineup and that can also contribute with the ball and gloves if needed.
