Ijaz is a tremendous young talent with the potential to take his game to the international stage. The elegant left-hander bats with great skill and confidence at the crease. He doesn't shy away from taking the attack to the bowlers, one of his best attributes. He is an excellent player of both seam and spin bowling as he has a wide array of shots in his arsenal that allows him to score freely all around the ground and ensure that he keeps the run rate ticking over. Whilst having had limited bowling opportunities he can be called upon as a useful option with his leg spinners, definitely good enough to trouble most club cricketers.
Ijaz's talent was evident at a young age which led to him making his First Class debut in 2019 at just 15 years old. Owing to his talent as a youngster he was selected to represent Afghanistan U19 in 2021.
Since the start of his professional career, Ijaz has competed in all formats of the game and has consistently produced highly noteworthy performances and stats year on year for a player of his age. His First Class and List A record speak for itself averaging 35 and 49 respectively.
It is clear to see that Ijaz is an extraordinary talent with huge potential. At such a young age he already has stats that more experienced players would envy. This is just the start of Ijaz's journey to international cricket, he has a lot more to show.
Ijaz is now seeking his maiden season in the UK. A player of his ability would be huge signing to any club looking for a naturally gifted run scorer that doubles up as a useful spin bowling option.
