Josh is a highly gifted young cricketer, exhibiting immense potential to become a professional player in the future. Having excelled at school level, Josh is currently dominating premier league cricket in Johannesburg as a solid all-rounder, batting at the top of the order and bowling consistent off-spin.
Attending St Stithian's College, one of South Africa's renowned cricketing schools, Josh was an integral member of the First XI team for most of his high school career and a prominent player in the Gauteng age group teams. After impressing at school level, Josh was selected to join the Gauteng Lions Academy. Currently, he plays club cricket and university cricket for WITS in the Premier A division of the Central Gauteng League, one of the most competitive leagues.
In 2022, Josh played for Essex Premier League club Colchester & East Essex CC, where he had a fantastic season emerging as the club's leading run-scorer in his maiden UK season. He finished as the 8th highest run-scorer in the league, a commendable feat for a young player in his debut UK season, scoring 1479 runs with an average of 49.30, including 2 centuries and 12 half centuries. Additionally, he took 40 wickets at an average of 29.15.
In 2023, Josh made his way to Totton & Eling CC in the Southern Premier Cricket League, where he continued his exceptional form. He was the club's top run-scorer with 698 runs with an average of 38.78 and the highest wicket-taker, with 36 wickets at an average of 18.75.
Given his impressive performance over the past few years, Josh is looking to return to the UK and would undoubtedly be an excellent signing for any club seeking a young and talented batting all-rounder to strengthen their team.
