Juma is an extremely talented all round cricketer. He is a player that can contribute effectively with both bat and ball. With the bat in hand, he bats with a very traditional style meaning he doesn't give his wicket away easily and looks to build an innings. Owing to his batting style, he is well equipped to handle any type of bowling and scenarios presented to him. He is an excellent player of both seam and spin and has the skills to score freely all around the ground whilst being able to take the attack to bowlers when the situation requires. With the ball, he can be seen as a reliable option with his off spinners when tasked to tie up an end or make a break through.
Juma's talent was evident early on as he was selected to represent Afghanistan U19 in 2014, at just 15 years old, during their series against Pakistan U19 and again during the U19 Asian Cricket Council. He would go on to make his First Class debut for Amo Region in 2017. Despite opportunities being limited and only playing a few First Class matches each season he still managed to consistently perform scoring centuries, half-centuries and averaging above 30.
Due to Taliban occupation, Juma's opportunities became even more limited and went over a year without playing a First Class match. However, he didn't let this dictate his career and made his way back into the professional scene this year where upon his return scored a well-played 55. He currently plays for Pamir Legends and featured in the 2023 Kabul Premier League.
Juma is clearly a highly talented cricketer that has been let down by the system in recent years but has shown that he is talented enough to still compete and perform at the highest level. With his sights now set on the UK, he would make for a fantastic addition to any club in need of a reliable run scorer and useful spinner capable of contributing well with both bat and ball.
