Kamil is a hugely talented young cricketer with a bright future ahead of him. A genuine quick opening bowler, he has the ability to challenge batters far more senior and experienced than him.
Astonishingly, Kamil made his professional debut in 2019 at just 13 years old when he represented Balkh Province during a List A match. Despite going wicketless in the match he only went for 28 runs in his 7 overs. However, just two days later he claimed his first professional wicket during a List A match for Balkh Province finishing with figures of 1/18 in 5 overs.
Post-Covid, Kamil continued to make impressive strides in his career making his First Class debut in 2021 for Amo Region at just 15 years old.
Fast forward to 2023, Kamil showcased his talent and huge potential during the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day Tournament as he was one of the top wicket-takers for the Hindukush Strikers claiming 15 wickets in four matches.
Kamil participated in the 2023 Kabul Premier League where he represented Kabul Zalmi, despite only playing two matches he picked up 3 wickets.
It is no surprise, given his exploits, that he caught the attention of the Afghanistan selectors which led to him being selected to represent the Afghanistan A team ahead of their tour to Sri Lanka in 2024. During the five match tour, he participated in two of the matches.
It is clear that Kamil is a huge talent with a promising career ahead of him owing to his impressive pace. He will no doubt be looked at to represent Afghanistan U19 ahead of the U19 World Cup and in the near future the Afghanistan National Team.
Kamil is looking to continue his development and showcase his talent by seeking a club in the UK for 2025. A player of his pace and skill would certainly bolster any club's bowling attack and guarantee early wickets.
