Kemira is a talented, up and coming all-rounder. He displays a lot of potential to one day become a top all-rounder in Sri Lankan domestic cricket. Typically positioned at the top of the order, he possesses a mature batting style that balances defense and attack. He shows aptitude for batting cautiously during challenging situations while also having the capability to take the attack to the bowlers when needed. Although his bowling opportunities have been limited, he is making strides towards being a permanent bowling option as he has shown that he has the ability to bowl at the top level.
Kemira began his professional career with Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club and has since remained a frequent member of the team as the selectors clearly see potential in him owing to his reliability as a top-order or opening batsman and as a bowling option.
Kemira signed for Chesterfield CC ahead of the 2024 season. Despite a challenging start to the season and needing to adjust to the new conditions, Kemira came into his own which led to runs and wickets flowing. In all competitions, he amassed 831 runs with an average of 39.57 and picked up 55 wickets at an average of 13.31 thus making him the club's leading run scorer and wicket-taker and finishing in the top 10 league leading run scorers and also the top 5 league leading wicket-takers. His efforts with both bat and ball helped guide Chesterfield CC to the league title and ultimately promotion into the Derbyshire County Cricket League Premier Division.
Kemira is seeking a return in 2025 and given his excellent achievements in his debut season, he would make for an excellent signing for any club looking for a dependable batting all-rounder.
