Tahir is a skilled and versatile batting all-rounder, capable of batting anywhere in the top five. A hard hitter of the ball, Tahir is proficient in playing against both seam and spin bowling and has the ability to score runs freely against any bowling attack whilst also having the ability to anchor an innings when required. Additionally, Tahir is a capable off-spin bowler often utilised to tie down an end to restrict the opposition run rate and take wickets through buidling pressure.
In 2015, Tahir was selected to represent Afghanistan A, even before he had made his First Class and List A debut, highlighting his immense talent. Following his selection, he made his debut in both formats shortly after. Tahir's maiden First Class season was impressive, scoring 586 runs and taking 21 wickets.
Over the following years, Tahir continued to produce consistent performances whilst honing and developing his skills. This dedication paid off in the 2023 season, where he scored 310 runs in just five matches, averaging 62, which included one century and two half-centuries. His efforts saw him become one of the top 10 leading run-scorers in the tournament, earning him a call-up to Afghanistan A.
Tahir signed for Gravesend CC ahead of their 2024 Kent Cricket League campaign. His season was going well until he suffered an injury causing him to cut his season short but despite this he still scored 630 runs with an average of 42.
Eager to return to the UK, Tahir would make an excellent addition to any club seeking a talented and hard hitting all-rounder capable of producing match-winning performances with both bat and ball.
