Tahmeed is a talented off spin bowler, hailing from north east India. He bowls with good consistency and has the ability to generate lots of turn. Whilst his stock ball is a big off spinner, he also has the ability to vary how much he spins the ball, making it challenging for opposition batters to determine how much each ball is going to turn when facing Tahmeed. Although batting lower down the order, Tahmeed is more than capable of holding his own with the bat and can be seen producing big shots when needed.
As a junior, Tahmeed was always in the Nagaland age group representative sides before making his First Class debut in 2018. Since then, he has been a key member of the team and has represented Nagaland across all three formats. He has often been invited to attend the North East camps and has been selected for the North East squad on a number of occassions. Tahmeed also has captaincy experience having previously captained the U19 North East Zone team.
Tahmeed is also a Nagaland record holder as he was the first person for Nagaland to take a hattrick during a Ranji Trophy match. He is also the second bowler from Nagaland to take 50+ wickets in First Class.
Whilst not recognised by the ECB as a Level 2 coaching qualification equivalent, Tahmeed also has coaching qualifications and experience as he currently holds an ICC Coaching Foundation Certificate.
Seeking his maiden season in the UK, Tahmeed makes for a great signing for any club looking to bolster their spin attack. Tahmeed brings with him plenty of experience and skill capable of taking 50+ wickets.
