Takudzwanashe is a remarkably talented and resilient cricketer, renowned for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to the sport. He is a well-balanced and technically sound batsman, possessing a deep understanding of his game, which he employs to his advantage. Takudzwanashe made his debut for the Mid West Rhinos in the 2016-2017 Logan Cup season, followed by his List A debut in the 2017-2018 Pro50 Championship, and his Twenty20 debut in the Zimbabwe Domestic Twenty20 Competition. His outstanding performance earned him a place as a standby player for Zimbabwe's Test matches against Pakistan. Later, in July 2021, he was named in Zimbabwe's Test squad to play against Bangladesh. He debuted in the first Test, scoring 87 runs in the first innings, the highest score by a Zimbabwean opener on Test debut. In January 2022, he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka, contributing a well-played 42 runs.
