Thula is an exciting and talented left arm quick. Typically seen opening the bowling or bowling first change, he has a knack for taking wickets early on in his spell to get his team off to a good start.
Thula bowls with good pace and consistency. He is able to get the most out of the new ball with his ability to adjust to conditions quickly and use the skills that he has acquired over the years to swing and seam the ball both ways making it difficult for opposition batters to get going. This, coupled with his height, makes him a formiddle bowler.
A product of the prestigious Dolphins Academy, Thula begun his professional cricketing journey back in 2017 when he made his debut for KwaZulu-Natal. Since then, Thula has played all formats on the professional stage alongside national cricketers and has represented KwaZulu-Natal, KwaZulu-Natal Inland, Mpumalanga and currently plays for Easterns.
Thula was the stand out bowler for Easterns during their 2024 CSA Provincial T20 Cup campaign as he emerged as the team's leading wicket-taker for the tournament.
Thula is now looking to embark on his maiden journey to the UK for the upcoming 2025 season. A bowler with his pace and skillset would make for an excellent signing by any club looking for an opening bowler to bolster their bowling attack that can guarantee early wickets.
