Tumelo is an exceptionally talented bowling all-rounder, who is recognised as Easterns’ strike bowler and for a good reason. He exhibits tremendous control over the ball, capable varying his spin and pace adeptly to deceive even the best batsmen. In addition to this, he possesses a deceptively quick and effective arm ball, which he uses to his advantage while setting up batsmen. Even more impressive is his ability to bowl accurately and consistently for long spells.
With the bat in hand, Tumelo can be relied upon in the lower middle-order. He has a well-crafted technique which enables him to build partnerships and contribute valuable performances towards the back end of an innings.
A product of Easterns Cricket, Tumelo represented the junior teams before transitioning into the senior set up. During the 2022/23 CSA 4 Day, Division 2, Series, Tumelo was the leading wicket-taker for Easterns and the third highest wicket-taker in the competition. He is currently the leading wicket-taker for Easterns and the fourth highest wicket-taker in this season’s CSA 4 Day competition.
Tumelo brings with him a wealth of experience, knowledge of the game, and skill. A great cricketer on the field and an even better bloke off the field, he would make for a great addition to any club seeking a talented and dependable spin bowling all-rounder for the 2024 season.
