Exciting times ahead for Bristol based club, Knowle CC, as they sign their first ever overseas professional. The player they have signed ahead of the 2024 season is South African bowling all-rounder, Andrew Rasemene.
Andrew currently plies his trade for Easterns where he is a key member of the squad given his versatility and skill with the ball along with his ability to provide valuable contributions with the bat lower down the order.
Andrew's journey into professional cricket started in 2015 when he made his First Class debut for Northerns. He immediately made a good impression as he took 6 wickets on debut. Unfortunately, not long after this, Andrew's opportunities became limited which led to a three year hiatus from First Class cricket. However, Andrew realised he was destined for more and was hungry to get back into a First Class set up so he persisted and worked hard on honing his skills. The hard work eventually paid off as he was given a brief opportunity once again, this time with the Knights. After his brief stint at the Knights, Andrew was awarded a contract with Northern Cape where he played a role in helping the team win the 2022/23 CSA Division 2 4-Day Series.
Knowle CC, with the help of Andrew, will be looking to push for promotion into Prem 2 of the West of England Premier League. A very achievable feat. Apart from being a valuable asset on the field, Andrew will no doubt be a great addition off the field too, given his friendly and bubbly personality but will also help to bestow his experience and knowledge onto the club's younger players.
We look forward to seeing Andrew in action this season and wish him and Knowle CC all the best.
